North Shore driveways are a different job: longer runs, real grade changes, mature trees overhead and gated entries at the street. They take more material and more planning — and they're the driveways where a fresh black finish changes the whole look of the property.
A 200-foot winding driveway can't be squeegeed the same way as a 40-foot straight one. We plan the coat direction and cut-off points so there are no lap lines showing down the middle when it dries.
Heavy tree cover keeps asphalt damp, and damp asphalt grows moss and holds sap and leaf tannin. All of that has to come off before sealer, or the coat lifts. Prep here is the bulk of the day.
Sloped driveways channel water into the same tracks every storm, which is where the cracking starts. We fill those first and pay attention to how the surface sheds water before coating.
